Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences growing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will separate from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his own means, invading the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the group access places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight players to form the Questers and Planners groups.
Audiences can look forward to learning which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
